Restaurant Review - De Afghanan Kabob House

This is our 2nd try of food from Afghanistan. Our first trip to Salang Pass (see review below) was great, but we had nothing to compare it to. Here's what we had:

--Mantoo: dumplings stuffed with seasoned ground beef, onions, and herbs. Topped with homemade ground beef sauce, and vegetables. This is similar to the ravioli dish we tried at the other place, except the beef was on the inside this time. I actually preferred the other place because it was stuffed with leeks and the beef was on the outside. Still, a very tasty dish.

--Chupon Kabob: Skewer of spring lamb marinated in our special meat sauce. Now this was the real treat here. One of the BEST lamb kabobs we ever had. And as always, basmati rice proves to be our favorite kind of rice also. Recommended!

--Combination Kabob: Skewer of boneless chicken breast marinated in our special sauce charbroiled to perfection. Skewer of Teka beef. Wow, also very good! The chicken was very juice with a bite! Beef was probably our least favorite of the 3 meats.

Bottom line: We prefer this place over Salang Pass for Afghan food. The meat was amazing, but I'll be going back to Salang Pass for the desserts! $70 for 4 people.
